Guy Lidbetter's Memorial Fund

Guy, 55, sadly lost his battle with Motor Neurone Disease. He passed away peacefully at home on Saturday 12th December 2020. Well liked for his sharp mind, quick wit, kind nature and organisational & budgeting skills by friends and colleagues alike, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Lisa, son Joseph, daughter in law Alice, twin daughters Sarah and Hanna, sisters Kate & Jo and his nieces and nephews.

Due to the current COVID restrictions a private, invitation only funeral will be held. A memorial service will be arranged when restrictions are lifted so we can celebrate Guy's life in the style he would have liked!

He first encountered an issue affecting his feet and with his walking in August 2018. He was diagnosed with "probable" MND in April 2019 which was confirmed in September 2019. Always the optimist, he engaged in the latest research and enrolled on a trial with the hope that a cure for this awful disease would be found.

MND is not so common, thankfully affecting just 0.01% of people (in the UK). But, this also means it does not get so much air time in the fund raising stakes. Nevertheless there is active research into the disease that will be helped directly by any donation made on this page.

Messages of condolence and donations to MNDA can be made via this page. If you would prefer to just leave a message please click on Contact Guy's Family.

His family thank you for your support at this difficult time.
